The Rite of Christian Initiaion (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) is the present day process by which people enter into the Catholic faith.  RCIA is a process in which interested men and women can explore Catholicism, and make a decision to become a Catholic over a period of months.  The program begins with an inquiry night in late September where an individual may ask questions and discuss the process.  Weekly meetings are held throughout the discernment period to review the gospel of that day, discuss it’s affect on our daily life, and convey to the participants the tenets of our Catholic faith.  The process concludes with the celebration of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil.  If an individual feels further discovery of our faith is necessary, they may continue their journey until the following Easter.
